Fenugreek seeds might be useful in constipation. Fenugreek seeds have a high content of soluble fiber called mucilage. When this soluble fiber absorbs water in the intestines, it swells up and increases the bulk in the stool. This triggers contractions in the intestine and pushes the stool smoothly.
